Pastor John K. La Shell was born in 1947.  He came to Grace Community in 1994 after pastorates in Wisconsin, Montana, and Western Pennsylvania.

He and his wife, Heather, were married in 1968. She is a registered nurse working at Phoebe Home in Allentown, PA. Heather says she is a foreign missionary to the United States because she was born in Toronto, Canada. They have two children, both of whom are married and following the Lord.  Four grandchildren bring a great deal of joy to their lives.

Pastor La Shell has a B.A. in Pastoral Studies from Moody Bible Institute, an M.A. in Old Testament from Talbot Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Reformation and Post-Reformation Studies from Westminster Theological Seminary. His dissertation examined the controversy over visions of Christ that were reported during the Great Awakening in New England and in Scotland.

In 1998 Pastor La Shell taught Theology at a Bible School in Minsk, Belarus, for two weeks.  In 2001 and 2003 he taught two-week seminars in Tyumen, Russia.  The program was designed for prospective pastors and church planters.

Pastor La Shell has written several articles for theological journals and for The Blackwell Dictionary of Evangelical Biography (1730-1860). He has also written numerous articles for the religion page of the Morning Call.  In recent years he has written a series of nine fantasy stories for children & youth.  These are not yet published. 

His hobbies include walking and canoeing with Heather and astronomy. He has built his own six-inch Newtonian reflecting telescope, and he is a member of the Lehigh Valley Amateur Astronomical Society. The LVAAS Web Site is http://www.lvaas.net/

John Everett came to Grace Community Church in December 2001.  His wife's name is Renee, and they have four children: Ryan, Jeremy, Kelly and Katelyn.  All the children still live at home.  Renee works part-time at the Farmers' Market in Allentown.

Pastor Everett has an A.A. degree in Engineering.  He is employed full-time at PP&L in Allentown.  While working at PP & L and raising a family he traveled down to Philadelphia in the evenings to study at Philadelphia Biblical University, where he earned a B.S. in Bible in 1996.  He has also taken additional courses in counseling. Pastor Everett and Renee were involved in several successful youth ministries before coming to serve as the Youth Pastor of Grace Community Church.

Pastor Everett's interests include:
