Some people train their children the way they train their dog. Fido has never been taught to obey, so he chases cars and jumps up on people while his master watches and hollers helplessly. Children raised in a similar environment often become little barbarians. They quickly learn to manipulate their parents, but when the larger society refuses to cater to their childish demands, they become sullen dropouts or angry rebels.

The word of God says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). God expects parents to train their children in wise, godly behavior, and He commands parents to teach their children His word (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

That is a very big task, but Grace Community Church is here to help you with it. In addition to Sunday school for all ages, we offer mid-week instruction and fellowship on Wednesday evenings. On October 17th, we will be starting a brand-new program, called Discovery Club, for children in kindergarten through 6th grade.

Discovery Club uses materials produced by the nationally recognized ministry of Pioneer Clubs. It integrates games, songs, crafts, and biblical teaching to reach the hearts of children. While the boys and girls are having a great deal of fun, they will also be learning invaluable lessons for walking with God in a dark and difficult world.

Please bring your children to Discovery Club. We are eager to become your partners in their spiritual training. (You may drop them off and pick them up later, or you may stay for our adult Bible study. We also offer childcare for younger children and a great youth group for your teenagers.)
